Privacy Policy

MidSaver (“we”, “us”) is a website that lets you save public videos from Instagram and Facebook. This page explains what information we handle when you use it. The short version: we do not ask you to sign up, we do not store the videos you download, and we keep only the minimum technical logs needed to run the site safely.

What we collect

The link you paste

When you press Download, the link is sent to our server so it can fetch the public video information from Instagram or Facebook. A short-lived copy of that result may be cached for up to an hour so repeat requests for the same link are faster and put less load on the platforms. Cached results contain the video address and title only, never the video file itself.

Technical logs

Like almost every website, our server records your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. We use these logs to keep the site working, to limit abuse (for example, rate limiting rapid automated requests), and to diagnose errors. Logs are rotated and deleted automatically.

Contact form

If you write to us through the contact page, we receive your name, email address, and message so we can reply. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request.

What we do not do

• We do not store, host, or re-share the videos you download. Files stream from Instagram’s or Facebook’s servers to your device.
• We do not ask for, receive, or store any Instagram or Facebook login details.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not build profiles of the videos you download.

Cookies

The site sets a session cookie used for security (it protects the download form against cross-site request forgery). It contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser. We do not use advertising cookies. If third-party analytics or advertising is ever added, this page will be updated to say so.

Third-party services

To fetch a video, our server contacts Instagram or Facebook directly. Your device then downloads the file from their content network. Those companies have their own privacy policies which apply to that traffic. We do not send them your IP address or any information about you beyond the standard request for the public post.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we hold almost none, the practical answer is usually that there is nothing to delete, but you are welcome to ask through the contact page.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
