Facebook Video Downloader

This page lets you save a Facebook video to your device without installing an app or extension. Paste the link of any public video from a Page, a profile, a group, Facebook Watch, or a Reel, and MidSaver finds the MP4 file that Facebook uses to play it and gives you a direct download button.

Facebook usually publishes two versions of each video. When both are available you can pick HD for the sharpest picture or SD for a smaller file that saves quickly on mobile data. The audio is included in both.

How to Download Facebook Videos

  1. Get the video link

On facebook.com, click the video so it opens on its own page and copy the address from the browser bar. In the app, tap Share and then Copy link. Links from fb.watch, facebook.com/watch, facebook.com/reel, and Page video URLs are all accepted.

  2. Paste the link on this page

Drop the link into the box at the top and press Download. The site fetches the public post and lists the available qualities.

  3. Choose HD or SD and save

Click the quality you want. The MP4 downloads straight to your device. No redirects, no waiting page.

Download Facebook Videos on Mobile

The Facebook app has no save button for other people’s videos, so the browser is the easiest route. On Android, copy the link from the app, open Chrome, paste it here, and tap Download. The file lands in your Downloads folder and appears in Gallery.

On iPhone, use Safari. After you tap Download, Safari shows a download icon at the top of the screen; open it, tap the video, then use the Share button to Save Video to Photos. Choosing SD first is a good idea on a slow connection, since the file is much smaller.

Only after short clips? The Facebook Reels downloader is built for those. Need Instagram instead? The Instagram video downloader works the same way for Reels and video posts.

Features

  • HD and SD options. Pick the quality that suits your screen and your data plan.
  • Every public video type. Page videos, profile posts, group videos, Reels, Watch links, and fb.watch short links.
  • No login. The tool never asks for your Facebook password and never connects to your account.
  • Direct file download. The button saves a real MP4, not a link to another page.
  • Private videos are refused clearly. If a post is limited to friends, you get a plain message instead of a broken file.
  • Light and fast. One small stylesheet, one small script, no trackers or pop-ups.

HD or SD: which one to pick

Facebook keeps two complete copies of most videos. The HD copy is usually 720p or 1080p and is the right choice if you plan to watch on a TV, edit the footage, or upload it somewhere else. The SD copy is normally 360p, around a quarter of the size, and is fine for sharing in a chat or watching on a small screen.

The download buttons show the real pixel height of each copy, taken from the file itself rather than from Facebook’s label. Old uploads, videos from low-end phones, and some live-stream recordings only exist in SD; in that case you will see one button. Both copies always contain the audio.

Common problems and what they mean

  1. “This video is private or requires login.” The post’s audience is set to Friends, or it sits in a private group. Facebook only serves those to logged-in members, and this site does not log in. Ask the poster to set it to Public if you have a legitimate reason to download it.
  2. “No video was found at that link.” The link opens a text or photo post, an event, or a page rather than a single video. Click through to the video itself and copy the address from there.
  3. The link works in the app but not here. Some app links include a login token. Paste the link into a private browser window first: if Facebook shows the video without asking you to log in, it will download here too.
  4. The file opens in the browser instead of saving. Some phones play MP4s inline. Use “Open in new tab”, long-press the video, and choose Save or Download.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Facebook links can I download?

Public video posts, Facebook Reels, Facebook Watch links, fb.watch short links, and public videos from Pages and groups. Anything you can watch without logging in should work.

Can I choose HD or SD?

Yes. When Facebook offers both, you will see an HD and an SD download button. HD is larger and sharper; SD is smaller and quicker to save on mobile data.

Why does it say the video is private?

Facebook only shows the video file to logged-in friends when a post is set to Friends or Only Me. This tool never logs in, so it can only fetch public videos.

How do I copy a Facebook video link on my phone?

Tap the three dots (or Share) on the video in the Facebook app, then choose Copy link. Paste that link into the box above.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs on this website. There is no app, browser extension, or account.

Can I download Facebook live videos?

Once a live broadcast has ended and been published to the Page or profile as a normal video, yes. Streams that are still live cannot be saved.
